Earlier this fall we at Yamato attended the PACK EXPO trade show in Las Vegas. PMMI, or The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies, plans several of these trade shows throughout the world each year. Fortunately, the 2019 Las Vegas show was a success. Read on to learn more about the event and our experience.
PMMI is an organization of more than 850 North American companies in the manufacturing, packing and processing industries. The organization assists companies to advance technologies with new connections. Networking such as this is most often done at the organization’s PACK EXPO trade shows.
2019 PACK EXPO Las Vegas
Each year, PACK EXPO trade shows bring together processing and packaging industry leaders to network and innovate. However, the 2019 PACK EXPO Las Vegas was exceptional. It was North America’s most prominent packaging trade show and the largest PACK EXPO show to date. This particular trade show had the most attendees, exhibitors, and the largest exhibition spaces. Over 30,000 industry leaders from around the world, over 10 countries, came. The trade show floor itself spanned throughout four pavilions: Package Printing, Reusable Packaging, Containers, and Confectionery. Throughout these buildings, exhibitors showcased the hottest technologies in the packaging and manufacturing industries.
Our Role at PACK EXPO
Our Yamato representatives are honored to have participated in such an event. Leaders from all over the world stopped at our booth. By connecting with a broader audience, we were able to accumulate a record-setting number of leads. We chatted about our WE WEIGH STUFF marketing debut and our 100-year anniversary next year. Above all, we showcased our comprehensive product line of automatic and commercial weighing solutions.
The star of them all was our Multi-Point Depositor (MPD). This machine automatically weighs and deposits food into rigid and semi-rigid containers. This process eliminates labor used to portion out and fill containers. Moreover, it improves productivity with its single-source integration and configurable tray patterns. The MPD also increases product safety with its highly sanitary, stainless steel construction. Fresh or frozen meals, salad kits, fruit, vegetables, and snacks are ideal for this machine.
The Las Vegas PACK EXPO provided us with some key takeaways. We learned that some of the hottest technologies in the industry are labeling, flexible packaging, pre-made pouches, robotics, and coding. In the end, we made a record-breaking number of leads while learning about industry innovations.
